Hello all!  Just stumbled on this site and boy am I glad I did!  Been smoking meat my whole life with my Dad and started really on my own about 5 years ago after his passing. Been using a horizontal but just recently bought a 24" smoke vault and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive. My horizontal was my dads and is completely rusted through so after some research decided to make the switch from charcoal fires to propane. Hope I made a good choice. Looking forward to absorbing all the info I can from the site!

Welcome to SMF.  

Sounds like you've got a ton of smoking experience with your Dad.  I use a gasser myself and I really like the easy temp control.

If you can't locate the answer just ask folks here are willing to share there knowledge. Thanks to all for the warm welcome!  Looking forward to learning more and sharing my experiences! My new smoke vault is due to arrive Monday!  Going to lay the old horizontal to rest!  She had a good life!  I was trying to think how old that thing is and I think its about 20 years old.  The bottom finally totally rusted out.  She was a good one.
