My name is Nate and I'm from the scenic flat lands of northeast Arkansas.  I am a policeman and have always enjoyed cooking but until recently have never owned a smoker(so my skill set it limited).  I have been wanting a Bradley smoker for a while and it finally arrived and am ready to start smoking that pig!  The Bradley seemed the easiest for someone with absolutely no smoking talent(even though the price wasn't easy).  I am looking forward to some wonderful advice and recipes.  Thanks.

Welcome to SMF!

I used to live between Conway and Vilonia.

Made many trips thru your cotton fields running between there and Ohio and back.

3am, flying low, almost finished with the 12 hour drive, I swear it looked like snow!

First off welcome to SMF there Nate. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

Welcome To Your New Addiction

Welcome to SMF glad you can join us.  We are big on Pics and love to help everyone out.  Remember the only question that is dumb is one not asked.  You will not find a friendlier place to talk Que on the web.

You are going to fit in just fine.

Thanks for the replies everyone and I finally got to smoke some pork steaks this past Monday which turned out great!  I am addicted and am smoking my first baby backs tomorrow.  This place is great!

Thanks, it's always nice to hear due to the fact it typically is a thankless job(because we rarely deal with the upstanding citizens who do appreciate all of our first responders).  I always appreciate people thanking us but it was a chioce just as greeting at Wal-Mart.

Michael Ark, I'm from Jonesboro but moved to Paragould a while back.  My brother, Ted Herget, owns Gearhead there if you've heard of it?
