Got my replacement in yesterday.  All is well!  This one works great and is now seasoned.  Time to get some meat thawed out and find some sawdust.  Life is good.  Thanks to the wonderful Customer Service rep who called me to help work through this issue.  I can almost taste that summer sausage now...
