Hi all...this was my first attempt with pork (picnic) shoulders.  I smoked these in August (sorry it took so long to post) for my daughter's second birthday party.  We bought 3 shoulders (about 35 pounds total) and I rubbed them three days before the party with my own mix and smoked them the day before.  They took a little longer than expected and my wife and I were up until 2am pulling pork.  They made awesome sammies and the entire 35 pounds was gone by the end of the party.  Earlier in the week we smoked a few chickens so my wife whipped up a quick smoked chicken salad.  We also smoked mac and cheese and beans the day of the party...need to make bigger trays next time!

Sounds like a great party for your daughter. Must have been some pretty good PP to go through all 35 pounds!

Now that is alot of smoke but it will calm downI'm sure. You sure have a mess of pork for all those folks.

Nice smoke.  Looks like you have the same MasterForge smoker as me.  Have you done any changes to it yet?

Welcome aboard GDKMP! Glad to have you.

Beautiful work, you obviously have it dialed in already.

Please continue to let us look over your shoulder, by sending lots of photos of your smoker and your efforts. We LOVE photos!

As you can see, lots of friendly people from all over the globe to help answer questions if you have any.

Enjoy!

I haven't made any changes yet. I've seen a lot of great tips on here for attaching oven door sealers to the smoker doors to keep the smoke in. I feel like too much is escaping through the door. I might give that a try over the Christmas break.

Thanks everyone!  All the great support here is awesome.

I purchased a gasket for mine because like you noted too much smoke escaping. I had to order it as I couldn't find it here locally.

Where did you order it from?  I'm hoping to work on mine in the next few weeks.
