The Office Park where I work was having the Oaks tree trimmed all of the wood was being feed into a chipper. It was killing me seeing all that good wood being turned into mulch.  So I deceived to ask them if I could take some. He asked if I wanted for fire wood and I replied that it was for smoking. After a few more questions he asked what size I wanted I told him 4 to 8" would be great. A hour later after I got off work I stop by to find about 1/4 of the wood in the picture below cut into 16" logs. After I loaded up he told me that if I stop by the next day he have some more.

Now I am trying to figure out what two kinds of oak it is. Any help?

The wood on the lower left is the frist tree and leafs belpw the rest is from the second tree.

looks a little like the water oak i have on my place.  If you post up a pic. of one of the leaves it will be easy to identify.
