I'm new to this site, and enjoy the newsletters and advice from all of you vets on here. I'm just getting into smoking more and more after living in KC for 18 years and going to the American Royal year after year, and well, I moved to Des Moines a few years back and can't find any truly good BBQ so I figured I'd make my own! I'm married with 4 kids, and my wife loves pulled pork, so thus far all I've smoked is some pork butts which turned out well and I have tried the bacon wrapped chicken breasts and shrimp from the newsletters also which turned out well. I'd like and welcome any advice on making the best bbq I can, and someday hope to compete a little bit. I use a barrel smoker with the offset firebox, but keeping my temps right gets challenging but that's half the fun right? Lol Anyhow, looking forward to advice from the massive amounts of experienced folks I have seen on here.
