I want to thank all of you for making this past Thanksgiving the best one ever at my house. I've been lurking here for quite some time and have learned a ton from all of you. I have tried smoking in the past with a ecb but it was such a pain in the butt for me that I hardly took the time to fire it up, so after tons of reading and discussing the benefits with my wife I stepped up to the plate and got the MES 40 from Sam's. It is one of the best things I have ever bought. Waiting on the chip box upgrade, but it still turns out awesome food. I'm also hoping there is a amnps in my stocking soon.
So far everything I have tried from you guys has blown me and my family away. We have done pp with Jeff's rub and the finishing sauce, my wife's personal favorite. Brined a couple turkeys up with slaughterhouse and they are awesome, also have done some spatchcock birds and a ham. I will try to get on the ball and start snapping pics soon. My avatar is the mes on thanksgiving, those foil pans are a life saver for clean up. Turkeys got smoked the day before and warmed up in the morning.
Anyhow Thanks everyone for sharing all of your knowledge, I look forward to getting more involved here. Here are a few misc. things I've learned from here. Dang it my mouth is watering like crazy now, I gotta find some meat now before anyone gets hurt lol.
Oh yeah I was gonna tell you I just got an email about my mes, and they linked me to smf for more info on the mes. Thought that was pretty cool.
