need longer and smaller sausage tubes..NEED your guys help!!

Hey guys

I bought the Kitchener 5lb vertical sausage stuffer from Northern Tool, and the unit came with the "standard"  1/2", 7/8' and 1 inch tubes....I NEED to order a couple tubes that are smaller...I am doing 17 and 19mm casings for snack sticks.

I assume most ALL of the tubes for the vertical 5lb stuffers are the same......Can someone point me to a place that I can order some smaller diam. tubes for the 5lb stuffer?  I just ain't sure what to get, and that all 5lb tubes are the same style/diam attachment point.

Thanks for any help

Dan

If you have a Bass Pro Shop nearby they have them too

Ditto

Any place that has 5 lb stuffers and tube will work. If you have a Bass Pro Shop or Gander Mountain close by you can go there and get LEM tubes for the 5lb.

I had a longer tube made.

You could also use 3/8" PEX with a nylon washer and flare one end of the PEX. It works reasonably well as long as your meat mixture is wet enough. If the mix is not wet enough you will blow out the seal on the plunger and meat will be stuck under the brim of your friend's baseball cap causing you to laugh until your muscles cramp leading your friend to get very pissed off.

I saw on another forum how a guy made s stuffing tube out of a toilet tube that you would have in your toilet at home. He basically took the toilet tube and removed the one end and then took one of his plastic tubes and cut the end off and shoved the new toilet tube into the plastic tube and glued it together and walla you have a long stuffing tube that will fit 19MM casings. Here are a few pics of what he made. I think he said he made it for under $10.

I just went to the local DIY store and picked up a 2ft piece of 3/8" steel tubing, and some stainless washers....I am going to weld the washers on to the end tonight..and give it a whirl.  This sure will be a heck of alot cheaper than the tubes for sale on the internet.
