I was about to be done with the smoker when I remembered to throw some eggs on.

I'm not sure how long they were in there, but they seem to have turned out ok.  After they cooled off, I just threw them in the fridge for later.

Dont mean to sound like a smart @$$, but you did hard broil and de shell them before you put in smoker.

I do smoked Eggs a lot. I put them in an area where it is 225*f or so and leave them there for 2-1//2hrs.,light smokiness and color to them, and thet're great for Salads(Egg,Potato,etc.). A good space filler for the Smoking Grate.

So the eggs are raw when you put them in the smoker ???  Dave

I have made them before and I steam or hardboil and peel before adding smoke, they make a fantastic deviled egg, make a bunch cause they don't last long.

I steam my eggs also, they come out better than broiling them.

They were raw when I put them on.  I'm pretty sure they are fully cooked.  I tried spinning them and shaking them, so they seem pretty solid.

I use to make a lot of smoked eggs but for some reason haven't lately. They don't get as strong of a smoke flavor as I am wanting so I was going to shell them and cold smoke a bunch. You can put them in the smoker raw and the shell will get brown and the inside will have a slight color and slight smoke flavor. If you want a stronger smoke flavor I think shelling and cold smoking would be the way to go. At least that is what I am planning on trying. I was going to do some smoked/pickled eggs like Nepas. They have always sounded good to me.

This was to show how brown the shell got compared to a raw egg.

There was only a very slight smoke flavor to the egg.  I think you are right about cold smoking hard boiled & de-shelled eggs if you are interested in a stronger smoke flavor.

Those are some great shots to give people and idea of how much color they get. Its pretty cool how brown they get.
