This year I saved a ton of cash by doing my own cold smoked cheese, sea salt and Buck Board Bacon. These are all things I will be serving or giving out on turkey day.

Instead of paying $3.99(and that's at a discount store) for 3.5 oz of smoked sea salt that I'm giving away...

I paid $1.58 lb and made 2 lbs of it to give to family and friends at gatherings tomorrow.

and it's amazing sprinkled over buttered...

Instead of paying between $5.19 and $6.99 per 8 oz(not even a lb) of smoked cheese that I'm serving as appetizers...

I bought 5lb blocks of cheddar and mozzarella for $14.98 per block and made...

And of course I have to bring everyone a baggy of BBB that I've been storing up recently. Bacon itself is pretty pricy these days but a 12 oz(again not even a lb) package of bucky at the local grocer is $6.19.

and I'm not sure it's really smoked.........but these were

and I'll be pulling over 13 lbs out of the freezer tomorrow to give away. Nothing beats a leftover turkey and bucky sammie the day after Thanksgiving.

Thanks to this

I'm gonna be the shining star at tomorrows gatherings. Plus I can say I did it myself and I know I saved a few $$$$ while I was at it.

I have no connection to Tjohnson or his company. I'm just a satisfied user of a product he happened to design.

Hey Bear,

We have a chain here called Food 4 Less. I know they have some in the midwest but not sure about your area. The cheese is made by Joseph Farms, a California cheese maker and related to the Gallo wine family(not sure if you have Gallo wine out there.

$14.98 for a 5 lb block in either cheddar or mozzarella.

Thanks Teez.

I'll have to look around more---Most of our stores have regular cheese that isn't smoked for about $6 or $7 per pound.

That's why I don't smoke much cheese.

Great job Teez. You are going to be the most popular guy in town with all that goodness

The pics are what I didn't buy since I was able to make my own using cali cheese. my wife family is from Chicago and they're all about Wisconsin cheese.

Looks great Teez!

Yes, Todds little device is a money saver.  I checked out some Canadian Bacon at our store.  $4.29 for 6 oz.  A little over $11 per LB.  We make ours for about $2 per LB.

Good luck and good smoking.
