Two things:

First, MES 30 all black digital at Lowes $179  last one will sell for $20 off.  Good deal or not....?  I know, dumb question, sure it's a good deal.  Would it be the smoker to start with?  It seems a little small to do Spareribs on so would probably have to split them.  Does this affect times?

Second,  found a whole brisket at Kroger while shopping for T-day stuff.

Decided to give it a try on my Weber Gas grill, using only the back burner on low to give me 225 degree internal temp.

Using Todd's pellet smoker,  found it hard to keep lit.  Maybe it's starved on the gas grill?  Any help there would be appreciated.

Brisket is now foiled and waiting on IT to reach 190 then into cooler to rest.

Going to try posting pics again, (didn't work last time I did it).

Big question:  How do I make the pics smaller?

1.  For where I live....... $179.00 for a MES 30 is a deal.

It's perfect to start with.

2. The AMNPS needs lots of air to burn properly, it will not work on a gas grill (unless modified) because of air flow.

3. Not sure how to make pics smaller.

I like the larger pics myself.

4. Brisket is looking good

Thanks everyone for your comments.

More info on the MES 30.  After doing some looking around I have come to the conclusion the inside dimensions are a bit small for me.  Think I'll keep looking and go for one a little larger.

I can do what I need to do for now with what I have.

Getting ready to put the turkey in the brine for it's overnight swim.  Will pull it out tomorrow and hope to have some good eating for Thanksgiving day.

Doing a whole Turkey, a  turkey breast (my son from Michigan is bringing a breast down he smoked, a little contest going on there I think), and my 9 year old grandson wants his own Turkey.

Last year I fixed him up with a cornish hen.  This year I'm going to make him his own Coke bottom hen.  (Kids version of a Beer butt).

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here at SMF.
