Having attended the N FL gathering, I can tell you these things are a bunch of fun. Between all the personalities and recipes you can't go wrong. There are enough of us North Cackalackians that we should plan our own gathering. I am willing to volunteer my 500 gal RF for the cause. Unfortunately, I live in a very strict HOA and can't hold it at my place.

count me in... i work the weekends but will plan on taking some time off for this festive occasion.......

Hey everyone,

I just joined the forum today, after receiving a resounding reccomendation from NEPAS.  I attended his Smoke Out in PA last summer and had a ball.  I intend to join him again now that he has moved to Savannah.

I live in Morganton, right off I-40.  I would be interested in attending any NC-related function like this.  What do you think would be the format?  Any ideas about when you might want to schedule it?

I am open for the most part. Late September - early November of any year are bad for me. We also need someone willing to host us on their land for a weekend or we could do like the S FL guys did and look into a group campsite.

Hi Art

Welcome to the SMF

Count me in!  I do travel for work a lot, so it will probably be best for me to just sit back and wait to see where and when this epic event will take place and hope that I can attend.  I think the campground thing sounds fantastic.  Plus it will give time to plan during the winter while we wait for things to warm up.  I thing April or May would probably be good months.

How about swinging over to roll call and introducing yourself so we can give you a proper welcome and don't forget to fill out your profile

Happy smoking

Joe

I think that would work great Scott. Based on history, the first gathering of any kind tends to be a little smaller until it gets a reputation. If you are willing to host it I am willing to work with you to organize it.

Depending on where it is I would be more than happy to make the drive from Virginia. However, due to my work and school schedule I will most likely not be able to attend if it were held on a weekday.
