i have about 11 turkeys and 2 hams to smoke for the big day thursday. what can i use to mark these bad boys so i make sure the right turkey gets to the right person?
J/K I like to tie cooking twine around the drumstick on chicken but have never had to identify 11 different ones. Are they all about the same size wouls someone get real upset if they got turkey a vs turkey b?
I have the same issue. I have 7 birds to try and keep track of and I have already pretty much given up on worrying about who get's what bird. One guy had two big ones and one guy had two little ones so I know they get those and the ones in between are going to be a free for all. I was thinking about taking twine and putting some type of tag on it but I didn't know what would be safe in the smoker. If I had different colored twine I would mark it that way but you would need a lot of different colors. If they are all pretty close in size it shouldn't matter that much. If they are that worried about it then they can smoke it themselves. haha
Use the least amount of toothpicks for who ever asked first, the most for the last to ask. If they ask why they got so many holes in their bird, just tell them you gotta make reservations EARLY...LOL!!!
I use Monarch Tags #925047 write on them with the clear barreled Bic pens and attach the with string to the legs or use meattag hooks. They stay readble throught the brine an smoke.
