Yard bird in the brine

Got the bird in the brine for a nice over night bath.

Brine

1 1/2 gallon water
1/2 cup Kosher salt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
A dash of garlic powder
A dash of onion powder
One split orange

I just threw 7 birds in a brine pretty close to this recipe. I can't wait to get mine on the smoker tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing your qview.

Update

Bird out of brine and rubbed down

Letting the bird come up to room temp so I headed out to start the smoker.

Smoker is up to temp time to put the bird on

About a 1 1/2 hours in and the bird is looking good

2 hours and internal temp was 160F pulled bird of and foiled for a nice rest

The bird was not for this dinner so no money shot sorry. I did have a lot of coals left so I tossed on a chuckie

I should have added that it was smoked over Royal oak with cherry wood .. And I had a smoker temp of around 300F and the skin turned out great..
