Hello everyone!

I stumbled across this site while trying to find out if a smoker idea I have has been tried or will even work. It was suggested I stop here and say hi!

My name is Mike, I live in southern Maine and am really new to smoking. We bought a piece of property last year and tapped some of our maples. After boiling the sap down in the kitchen I decided to tap more trees this year and use a woodstove in my 20'x16' shed. Some how I got the idea of using the heat and smoke from it to smoke some meats (since the sap will take all day to boild down any way).

I posted a thread with my idea and questions and am looking forward to hearing any suggestions and comments you may have.

ps, last year my son and I only tapped three trees and got about a gallon of syrup, this year we have marked out and will tap about 20 so the stove will be cooking!

Thanks again!

Mike
