As a long time lover of the ham hock, I just had to join in the fun.

Happy with the results, next step, a Big 'Ole Pot 'O Beans.

Thanks to ShortEnd, some of the most helpful folks around here, I tell ya.

Cured and ready to go:

Next step, Pot 'O Beans!

Those look great. You can't beat smoked ham hocks to kick start a pot of beans. How was that

ham steak?

 Chuck
Destined for the Bean Pot too.  I'd gotten that Ham Steak on sale, so figured I'd use it to augment the meat from the hocks.  Otherwise, I'd pulled it from the smoker sooner.  But for the intended use, it should be just right.

I most certainly agree!!!!!! My favorite is a pot of pinto beans.

With those hocks I bet a pot would be gut busting awesome. Just some cornbread on the side.

No matter whether it's pinto beans, navy beans, great northern beans, cannellini beans, black-eyed peas, split peas-you name it. It's all good! Some wonderful warm buttered corn bread to go with it - HMMMM! Don't get no bettr'n 'at!

Lol SmokinAl, several pots of beans, cuz like ShortEnd said, "It's all good!"

Cooled and chilled them overnight whilst soaking the beans, today working on a pot of Baby Lima Bean, nice and thick and full of ham flavor, a favorite around here.

I'll freeze the rest of the hocks, next up Red Bean, I'm thinkin'.  But gonna enjoy the Lima Bean first!

And here we go, Pot 'O Beans!
