What is the mixture ratio on the cider and water???I have read it somewhere and now can't find it..Doing a brisket in the morning..

Tis the Season for fresh Cider....I like it straight up...Don't need no stinkin' water!...JJ

Are you injecting it or putting it in the water pan?

Either way the ratio is up to you, but if it were me, if your injecting it I would use straight apple cider with some of your rub mixed in. If your putting it in the water pan I really don't think you will notice any taste difference in the meat between using water or apple cider, or a combo of both.

I'm using it just to spray on the brisket in between smoke. Do I boil the Apple cider? with half and half? Or just mix as is? Thanks.

What Al said.

Only thing I would add is if you're spraying it on the meat every so often, while smoking, I would heat it up to 200˚ or so.

This will keep the meat from losing temp every time you spray it.

I like to marniate in apple juice, salt, and brown sugar for 3-5 days before and then I boil about 2 cups of the mixture for 10 minutes and use that to baste with and/or I use natural juices to baste with.  I boil it just to kill any bacteria from the meat.  No need to boil cider unless you wanted to do a reduction.  At this point I would use apple juice but the sugar in it would make more clean up  (sticky).   I like to use brandy or apple beer too.  Everyone does something a little different but it all works.

I don't spritz much any more.  Remember that every time you lift the lid you add about 20 minutes to a long smoke depending on your smoker.

Having said that, taste your spritz.  Don't spritz with anything you wouldn't taste out of the bottle.  LOL

Good luck and good smoking.

I use three parts apple cider and 1 part Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum...It makes a nice spritz...I use a gas GOSMS smoker, so don't

worry about loosing too much temperature. Give it a try, the rum helps put on a good bark.
