Kitchen Aid Stuffer/ Frustration!

So I have had my stuffer for over two years now and in a hurry tonight I used my stuffer on my kitchen aid instead.

Poor choice. I remember using it for years and thinking how great it was. NOT!

Had to fight air bubble and was not able to control the feed as I do with the Sausage stuffer. If anyone is using the kitchen aid stuffer, save your money and get a dedicated stuffer/press. I was so frustrated I wanted to throw out all the meat. I struggled through and got it done.
I will  never use the stuffer on my kitchen aid again.

As a grinder the KA is ok for 5# of Sausage but the stuffer is worthless...I feel your pain...JJ

Yeah, I only had 6# of mixed meat and was thinking it would work better then taking out the 11# stuffer. Nope. anything over 5 lbs I will be using my stuffer from now on not the KA one

I struggled with my grinder/stuffer.  This was a dedicated grinder, not a mixer attachment.  I was trying to keep my toy budget in check.  (not a good choice, there is always a new toy)  I finally broke down and bought a small stuffer.  It is a world of difference.  I love it.  Yes, it is another expense.  Yes, it is something else to wash and sanitize.  Yes it is another thing to find storage space for. But I would never be without it again!

Having said that, you can get by without it.  People did for centuries before us.  But I still love my stuffer.  LOL

Good luck and good smoking.

I agree a 5# stuffer is inexpensive & a must have item if your going to make sausage.

Been there done that got the Tshirt. Grinder works fine but if I had to use the stuffer all the time my sausages would all be done without casings. Hated that thing.

Give the KA to your wife for breads and cakes.
