My name is Jason and I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I've had an electric ECB for almost two years that I've been smoking ribs, brisket and pulled pork on. Last week my heating element decided to go while doing a brisket so I did a search that lead me here when I was trying to decide to replace my heating element and mod my smoker or buy something else. After much searching and thinking I decided that while a new smoker is something I eventually want I'm old enough to know my wants won't kill me and funding priorities are in a different direction so I ordered a new heating element and I am modding my ECB so it seals better with some adjustable vents. I'll take some pictures of it when I'm done.

Welcome to the site Jason, smart move replaceing the element for when u decide on another smoker you will now have the start of a collection. Tons of good info here.
