Congratulations! It's a great feeling to build it and a great feeling to cook on it too isn't!

Should I ask about the cinder block under the fire box? Does it need some more tongue weight?

Bubbonehead it's an awesome feeling and you are correct. I do need to add more tongue weight. I still plan on adding a cage to haul extra logs and a propane tank carrier up front and as a last resort move the spring shackles all the way back, 6 more inches. If that doesn't work add a spare tire.

WOW! for a guy that didn't know how to build a smoker nor weld you did a EXCELLENT job. Them welds look like you have welded all your life. Did you take a welding class before you started?

For tongue weight add a job box on the front, they weigh enough empty to balance it out, in my opinion.

Very nice first smoke as well. The turkey has excellent color.

China,

For a guy who knows nothing about welding you sure turned out a great looking smoker!

Good Job......enjoy your cooks now!

It sure worked tho!! Your finished product looks awesome! I'm kinda in the same boat you were in... Never welded before...never built a smoker before... But really want to build a nice one like you did!!! Thanks for the info!
