Why, yes I am.

I'm self taught & have been grilling and smoking for close to 30 years & have used everything from Japanese ceramic hibachi pots to a hole in the ground. Mostly a charcoal & hickory smoker but now I have the time I thought I'd branch out and learn from what looks to be a truly dedicated group of smoke artists.

Using the ratings here on propane smokers I picked up a Master Forge Double Door Smoker at Lowes and have an A-MAZE-N-SMOKER ordered up & on it's way.

I don't know that I'll have much to say in your forums as there's plenty of good info here to keep me busy for awhile but I did want to introduce myself and thank the host & contributors that make this such a rich resource of information.

If y'all will excuse me, I have some bellies needing my attention.

Welcome to SMF, RuNuts. You don't have to be nuts to be a member here but on some day it helps.  Like when it 32° and you have your smoker fired up and a line up of turkey birds smoking away your spouse or your neighbor may ask "ARE YOU NUTS??"  Or you don't let anybody eat because your still taking pictures to post up later as qview-yeah you might be nuts. But then you'll just fit in with everyone else here on this site!

Enjoy the Smoke!

Appreciate the welcome Dutch & teeznuts, may I ask what is Q-View?

Q-view is when you take pictures of your cook/smoke process and post them with details of your cook for all of us to drewl over. In turn we reply with comments, compliments or questions about your cook. It's a way for people here or even visitors to the forum to get ideas or instructions for their next food project.

The picture of you bellies is qview. Qview is any picture that you post of the foods you did in the smoker.  Most sites call it p**n but we try to keep this site as family friendly as possible.

Thank you sir, being as how this was a basic TQ & sugar cure w/ a soldering iron & soup can cold smoke I doubt it would add much to what's already available.

Pictures before we eat? You betcha! The wife unit doesn't complain so long as she gets some.
