Hello from the Fingerlakes Region

Thread Starter

Hello everyone,

I live in a small town just south of Ithaca NY. I have been reading and watching this forum for nearly a year. It seems that there is something new to learn nearly every day. My major reason for joining was to find the "perfect" smoker to get started with. After much time spent researching I finally came to the realization that there was no one perfect smoker. It was what fit you, your lifestyle, and your budget the best. What I finally decided on was a Masterbuilt propane as my ideal smoker. I have had the smoker for less than a week and love it. Over the weekend I did a couple of slabs of ribs and a pork butt. According to the wife, they are the best that she ever had. The first thing she said after tasting the butt was "can you do a thanksgiving turkey in that thing?". So I guess that I have the wifely seal of approval. What more could you ask for?

Welcome aboard, Duane!

Keep working on that wifely seal of approval!  It will come in handy down the road  when this site results in the devastation of your toy budget.  LOLOL

Good luck and good smoking.

Welcome to the most addictive forum on the web!

I also pass through your area my self and a group of friend hunt whitetails in Newfield, NY. We stay in the Glenn at Seneca Lodge for a week each year. I bring the Master built electric with me and let it cook meals while we hunt
