Hi, I'm Jay from Toronto, married with two boys. I'm an avid bbqer and I've been smoking for a couple of years. I have a char-broil off-set smoker, a weber charcoal, a char-broil 4 burner and a smoking sidekick for the gas grill. So far my favourite wood is cherry, not only for the taste but the smell is sweet and I like that. I've bought some woods that I haven't tried before, pecan and sugar maple, I'm always interested in trying something new. I'm the cook at home, it has been my passion for about 20 years.
I found this site through what was recipezaar when someone did a post on making bacon and that just intrigued me. Boy am I glad I found it. Not only do I have my first batch of bacon going, I think I'm going to build my first smoker. I like to smoke, I think it's the best tasting food hands down. I've signed up for this site because so far from what I've read the people on here know what they are talking about. Thanks everyone for the quick responses and positive feedback.
