My name is Bob and I live in Chattanooga, TN. When my Weber Genesis got stolen and could not quite afford to replace it I went with the 22.5 inch Weber Kettle. This has been my first real try at charcoal. I have loved it, although I still am not quite io my gas skills yet. One possibility that I am truly excited about is doing some smoking on it. I feel in love with barbecue in coastal SC and believe that vinegar based is the best, there is none of that in Chattanooga so I want to make my own. Tomorrow I start my journey by smoking my first rack of Baby Back ribs. If things go well I Hope to actually get a smoker.

Webber kettles are wonderful. I hope things go well for you. My dad smoked with a Webber upright smoker and it was good but took a lot of attention keeping the temperature where it needed to be. I bought a MES 30 a few months ago and have really enjoyed how easy it is to do my smokes in the proper temp range without babysitting the thing.

The MES 30 (with RF remote) has been selling on Amazon for 284.00 lately and that includes delivery. Seems like a heck of a deal for a unit that will have you doing good smokes from the starting gate.

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you here. Lots of good folks, great recipes and knowledge. Looking forward to  your first qview.
