A friend paid me a visit and along with him came 3 racks of ribs. We fired up the smoker and away we went. I did my basic pork but rub on 2 racks and decided to mop the 3rd with BBQ sauce.

The 2 rubbed racks came out great! But the mopped rack was a little on the tough side. I think it was because I accidentally hit them with my spritz first without even thinking. After that they tightened up. Live and learn I guess! We also tossed some potatoes on along with fresh corn smothered in fresh garlic, butter and other seasonings.

These pics were taken prior to being finished. I was going to take some of the final product but it was gone too fast :)

when did you start the mop?

On my mopped ribs, I still rub them and then apply the mop about 45min (then again about 20min) or so before they're done...
I had them on bare and mopped way too early. After I did it I figured I will rub them next time and towards the end start the mop. Live and learn!

Looks good to me.

I'm with EJ, I would love to have friends like that.

The ones I have just show up to eat!
