Don't let my username fool you, I am really not a Rude Boy, just a gaming alias I picked up years ago and stuck with it. My real name is Kevin.

Joined the forum a few weeks while doing some research on a smoker, wanted to stop by and say "Hello" as I now have a Landman 3605BGD Big Block on order to be delivered in a couple weeks.  I am getting it through a friend I made through my son's baseball team.  Very excited to take delivery and get started on the climb up the learning curve of smoking meats (this is my first smoker).

I live just on the east side of Sacramento in Rocklin, CA and the long summers here are great for back yard BBQ.  I have used a Weber kettle in the past and currently do all my stuff on a Weber Genesis Silver gas grill.  Been thinking about a smoker for a while now and finally pulled the trigger and placed the order.  I currently grill tri-tips, rib-eyes, chicken breasts (looking forward to getting into more whole body chickens) and pork ribs. I also do pulled pork / kaluha pork in the oven, and crock pot chili, looking forward to experimenting with doing these items in the smoker.

I plan on using the forum here (recommended by my friend that is a local Landman distributor) to hopefully flatten out the learning curve for smoking meats.

Since I don't have it yet, I am browsing around in anticipation of firing my new BB up and making some great food.

I do IT based project management out of my home and have a wonderful wife of 12 years and two great kids, who will be my guinea pigs for the next few months as I work on figuring out this cooking style.

I just wanted to make a post here and introduce myself and let you know that I plan on making use of this great resource for my new adventures in smoking meat.

Kevin,

Welcome. I just want to make sure you understand I can not be blamed for the time and money you will spend after your smoker arrives. :)

There is a great group of guys and ladies here that can answer all your question and I sure you will benefit from their Knowledge.

Thanks Robert, I know I wont blame you, but the wife may.  I'm sure she will like the good food though, money pit aside.
