I go the tank from a buddy. We believe it was a 1940's/50's air tank. All the seems were brazed. It's been tough working while the smoker is going, but I'm managing, lol.Mag409, Morning. ...Great build.....I love it........Now we need pictures of it fired up and a report on the evenness of the heat.........and of course Q-Views......
Now for the big question.......What kind of a tank did you find that had rivets............an oldie but a goodie....I would guess......
Second question.........how are you going to concentrate on work while the Q is cooking......

Thanks roller, I don't know about perfect, but it seems to be working good for me.You have built the PERFECT smoker !!!! Congratulations !!
I'm seeing anywhere from 5-15 degrees ddifference, depending on what stage the fire is at. Once the fire is stabilized it seems to maintain 5 degrees from end to end. If you add new coals to it the firebox side tends to jump until it stabilizes again. So far it seems to be controllable.Looks awesome! What kinda temp differences do you see from the left to the right? Anything substantial?
Thanks.nice!
