I normally only post on here when I need some expert advice, but I thought I would share our Father's Day meal with yall.  9 pound butt cooked for almost 24 hours at 225-250.  Thanks to everyone on here that has helped me out and happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.

Wow - that is some great looking pork. Congratulations and Happy Fathers Day

Looks good. But did you say that the 9lb butt took 24 hrs at 225? Seems like a REALLLLLLLLLLLLY long time.

I left it on longer than I should have.  When I go with the 1 1/2 hours per pound rule it is more sliced pork than pulled.  I normally go 2 hours a pound, this smoke went alittle longer due to scheduling conflicts.   I was spraying it every couple of hours and it had a full pan of water the whole time.  When I took it off it was still moist and falling off the bone.  It was just under 10 pounds, but that still meant it was on for  2 hours and 25 minutes a pound.  Everything else that I cook in my smoker takes as long as it normally should, my butt just takes longer.

Nice looking Butt,Glen. I love a good Butt and do them for the Family all the time, but I do them in bunches:

. These are from family and neighborhood cooks.

But ,Butts are so much easier, get a bone-in Butt and put it in at 200*f to 225*f  until the bone pulls out easily. Bingo, you've got a perfect ,juicy, tender Butt.

I like the way your's looks and know it tasta even better.

Have fun and....
