Pie potluck

Some of you might remember me using Dutch's chocolate pie recipe for a party last fall. There was another pie dinner last month for a birthday party and I thought a few of you might like more pie porn. There were a few rookies who didn't realize the importance of making a pie from scratch for these occasions; and that the idea is for everyone to eat some of every pie. and then go back for seconds, of every pie. They actually put only 1 piece of pie on their plate and thought they were done! oh, and dessert pies only! no quiche or potpies allowed!

the 90th birthday honoree, "aunt marjorie", about 30 or so family and friends gathered on our chilly memorial day weekend.

It was her parents and their neighbors who started the "pie dinner" tradition. Next time your friends ask if they can bring something to your party, say "pie!" and see what happens...

Looks like a great time to me! Best wishes to Aunt Marjorie!

PS I don't know how well my beers would go with desert, I may have to go with vino for a pie party lol.

Yeah, I thought of those but I can't get into sweet beers. Thats an upset stomach waiting to happen for me, besides I'm a bitter loving hop head.

Amazing display of pies. Never seen so many in one place. I don't see a problem eating pie with an IPA Steve.
