Family from Denver, Atlanta and San Diego came over for some BBQ today.  Picked up 6 racks of baby backs from Costco and smoked for about 4 and a half hours at 220 - 235 with mesquite.

Rubbed and ready for the WSM.

What a great day!!  It's not often this much of my family is in the same place at the same time, and cuz I still have a rack and a half of ribs left for later!!

Can't beat the fun of feeding your family and friends! Those came out looking beautful! Spud salad looks great too!  Cheers! and a belly rub.

Nice looking crowd there James.... on both the WSM and the couch!

Mighty tastey looking plates of food..... and if it had been my family there deffinately would not have been left over ribs... lol.

Give the puppy a bone and tuck it in for the night. LOL

gotta love the fact that you can lay 6 racks nicely on the WSM!! looks great hope the family enjoyed!

how much were the ribs at costco, i haven't been to mine in awhile, just wondering if there was a sale going on?

Thanks Everyone!

I do love the fact that I can fit 6 racks.  Before I got the WSM22 i could only do 3 racks.  Now I can cook lots and freeze some for later.  It's getting that nice coating on the inside making it easier to maintain and control temp. Made my first lid-ring on the table next to WSM - oops!  A few more runs and I will be ready for an all nighter.  I'll do a butt or brisket.

I paid $30 for 3 racks.  Not sure of the price-per-pound.

I found that the amount of rub I would use on 3 racks covered 6 nicely with the same flavor and color.  I put all the spices together to have it on hand and mix in the sugar when I am ready to put it on the ribs.  I also cook them straight thru.  No spritzing or foiling.  They still come out tender and juicy.

Also, Gotta love Cooper!  We rescued him from a life of solitude and neglect and he has done incredibly well adjusting the huge crowd of my family.

As fare as the left overs - I hid some some for later.  Shhh - don't tell anyone.

Those look great!I am finally perfecting my ribs.I like to use Jeff's rub and "Daves Famous" chipolte sauce mixed with honey, for a sauce I put on towards the end. What kind of rub you using there?
