Before I joined, browsing the site, seeing the title "Fatties", I thought it must be a section dedicated to members with a weight problem as a result of  Q consumption, and help with this problem. So, never looked into fatties, until a rainy day a week ago, and then discovered this world of extraordinary concoctions ! (In Australia the word fattie means something unrelated to eating, more to do with adolescent urges.....)

Anyhow, the ideas looked appealing, so here, my first, and definitely not the last fattie. Fun to imagine the fillings, fun to make, and great to eat, though don't see the cholesterol fears at all. It wasn't the least bit fat saturated, maybe because the bacon was mine, and sliced very thin, 1mm.

So, thanks to whoever first invented this beauty!

Mince is 50/50 beef and pork, salt and pepper only, filling is chicken thigh fillet cubed, marinated for three hours in  satay seasoning and dash of dark soy, and roughly chopped onion. Smoked with Apple chips.

Flavour was very nice, but the next one with this filling I will quickly pan fry the chicken and onion for a caramelised flavour. Thanks to the forum for all the info about making these !
