I am ready to get er done! I have been following many of the builds on this forum and finally I joined. It seems there is a wealth of information and everyone is eager to assist with answers to questions. This is my first reverse flow build and I am trying to search the facts to find the best way to get the results that I want. I have acquired a boat trailer to set the smoker on, a 500 gallon oil drum, and 175 gall drum for the cooker. Today I cut out the door on the 175 and began its burn. I will cut the doors on the 500 gal tomorrow.

The 55 gal drum can serve as a grill for hamburgers or other goodies and it can be used as a modified smoker using indirect heat. I made a basket insert out of expanded wire that keeps charcoal or wood in a nice pile so that it is easy to manage and can be positioned anywhere in the tank.

Nice looking unit. I currently have a 275 gallon oil tank that I want to convert into a smoker/cooker. I like the looks of yours my only question is where is the fire box on the 275 gallon part of the cooker? Luv the design. Can't wait to see how the monster turns out.
