It looks really god for your 1st one!!  Excellent job!

My recomendations are small, but may work:

Let the meat get to around room temp before putting it on the smoker. This will help prevent any crosote from forming on the meat.

I usually do pork ribs along with my brisket. I'll start the brisket 1st, smoke the heck out of it and then wrap it. I keep it wrapped while I smoke the ribs (this way the brisket doesn't get over smoked). 

When I take the ribs out of the foil (3-2-1 method) I take the brisket out also.  This allows the bark to firm up.

Doing both requires some math for finishing both meats at the same time, but it is worth it.

Looks good man! I agree......don't fear the brisket if you are new to smoking! I actually went to Kroger today for a brisket and was sad they didn't have any
