Oven Fried Fish - Halibut, Negra Modelo, and Mad Hunky

I've  always enjoyed this Oven Fried Fish recipe out of the Better Homes & Gardens cookbook. My only changes were the Negra Modelo instead of milk, and  about a TBS of Mad Hunky was added into the mix

Here's the ingredients

All mixed up

I used Halibut (Costco) for this one. Probably my favorite, but any white fish or chicken works well w/ this recipe

Dipped and battered

Topped w/ a lil extra parmesan

Here it is out of the oven. Cooked @450 for about 10 mins

Almost ate it all

Ingredients

  • 1  pound  fresh or frozen skinless fish fillets, 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick
  • 1/4  cup  milk
  • 1/3  cup  all-purpose flour
  • 1/3  cup  fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4  cup  grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2  teaspoon  dried dillweed
  • 1/8  teaspoon  black pepper
  • 2  tablespoons  butter, melted
  •

Directions

1. Thaw fish, if frozen. Rinse fish; pat dry with paper towels. Cut into four serving-size pieces, if necessary. Measure thickness of fish; set aside. Place milk in a shallow dish. Place flour in another shallow dish. In a third shallow dish combine bread crumbs, cheese, dillweed, and pepper. Add melted butter; stir until combined.

2. Dip fish in milk; coat with flour. Dip again in milk, then in crumb mixture to coat all sides. Place fish on a greased baking sheet. Bake, uncovered, in a 450 degree F oven for 4 to 6 minutes per 1/2-inch thickness or until fish begins to flake when tested with a fork.

3. Makes 4 servings

That looks good for sure. I have an oven fried fish recipe that is a little different. Not sure if I posted it here so I will again.

Heat oven to 500 degrees

Lightly grease a thick glass baking dish

Have some melted butter ready, season it if you like. I put dill in it

Wet evenly cut pieces of fish or filets in milk and coat with plain or seasoned bread crumbs

Lay out in dish so they are not touching each other

Drizzle on a little melted butter on each piece

Put in center rack and in about 12 minutes it will be done as if fried.

Thank you for the recipe, I tried it tonight with some tuna using Beer-B-Q's rub, turn out very tasty, we'll certainly be doing it again.
