That cherry sure is beautiful, and the granite, wow!  I bet it was fun to work together on it.   I got to create my perfect kitchen once, then we had to move, I still pout about that.  The rib roast looks great, too,  but that cat might have got a little too close to the microwave?  CHEERS! to you both, and to all your family, a happy spring!

Thank You Very Much for the nice comments Rap, gotarace, tyotrain, and Paul.

Sweet trophy kitchen there Bear...great job, looks like something out of a magazine. I'm with Al, my home kitchens about as big as that island....lol..I call it a galley kitchen. Nice slabs of meat as well....

Thanks Barbe,

I didn't help him install, other than a couple tips. He had some young help here & there, but I knew he'd be more proud if he did it all himself.

That cat might have been in the microwave. I've been out the kitchen circuit so long, I never even heard of the microwave my Son got. You can't see it in the pics, but it's in a base cabinet in that far left peninsula. It's called a "Microwave-Drawer". It occupies the top half of a 32" wide base cabinet. Pretty neat!

Beautiful kitchen. I don't know about that prime rib though. Not smoked??????? Huh??? haha Just kidding it looks perfect.
Thanks Ross,

The Prime Rib was great, but not as good as my smoked ones, but his Mom (Mrs Bear) was eating there too, so he wouldn't dare get any smoke on hers.  LOL

His in-laws were there too.  LOL

Thanks Willie,
My Son's kitchen is about 3 times as big as mine too, and that was the last kitchen I built---8 years ago (Natural Red Oak)!

Great lookin beef! Great looking kitchen..

I think it would be great to see a wrought iron pot rack hanging on some gnarly hand-forged chain from those trusses... Is that a wine cooler by the fridge?

On a side note, I like the idea of running the tile under the cabinetry. I did this in my house with travertine and my brother, who has been a contractor since 1969, said I was nuts for laying more tile than I needed just so I don't have grout lines around my toekick. I like the look and it looks good in your pics as well...

Thanks Pete,

No wine cooler. There is a coffee pot to the left of the double wall oven. We always run the tile under the cabs to the closest full tile, and under the stove & fridge too. Then you don't have trouble pulling the fridge or stove out, and everything that is supposed to be 36" to the top surface is 36".

Here's a close-up of the backsplash he did:

Good meat.  A rib roast can be good without smoking.  But that kitchen is awesome.  Probably too big for me, I would get lost in there.  LOL

I gotta say, tho, that the attention to detail and the look of that kitchen is awesome.

Good luck and good smoking!
