I was at walmart a few days ago and found a 3.50# boneless pork picnic for $6.69

I cut a chunk off so I could try useing some mustard under my rub

all rub up and ready for fridge

got up at 6am and got my fire started had a nice fire work show going on

got meat on at 7am temp is running a little hot about 265*

You'll love the mustard but I don't think you'll taste the mustard much. Just adds with the sugars, etc and the bark.

 

Nice job, lets see when you pull it!

The mustard adds nothing other then something for the rub to stick too.

Looks great so far. With all the fireworks at the beginning, I bet your using Cowboy lump!

in kansas come on down dinner at 6 if it gets done it's been 8 hours and i'm at 150*

Coyote1- Looks great!  What kind of wood did you use with your smoke?  You made some great BARK on that pork.  I'm sure it is the first of many.
