I was born and raised in the S,Calif desert (30 years) and grew up eating my moms mexican food. Every friday she made chips-n-salsa. I need some today.

Cutting the corn tortillas.

Use lard to fry the chips this you you stay away from all the polly unsaturated junk.

Diced red onion.

Crap, Dropped the ball on the salsa making. Oh well.

I must say that I admire anyone who uses lard to get that true Mexican flavor on some foods. You just can't go wrong with salsa and chips that are fried the original way. BTW, whar type of chile did you use in your salsa? It's all good my friend.

Thanks

I used Anaheim. I didnt roast these cuz i wanted to make the salsa quick.

What? No salsa recipe? Oh man, you're killin' me. Was so looking forward to a real mexican salsa "how do you people make this so good" recipe. Booo..

You cant beat homemade salsa man. I do a roasted salsa, I grill roma tomatos, red onion, garlic cloves, poblanos and anaheims. I think it adds a nice flavor to blister up all the veggies on the grill. Finish it off with fresh squeezed lime and some cilantro and I'm in heaven! I dig the homemade chips!

Looks great!

How did you drop the ball?

Southern Cal Coal Cracker---Now I've seen it all!

I worked with a guy (Italian) from up there whose name was so long, they allowed him to abbreviate it on his PA Driver's License.
