Alright !!!

This is GREAT !

Johnny, I know how glad you are to be able to smoke again, but you have no idea how happy I am to see you back in action!!!

And a Helluva job, right out of the gate too!

Welcome Back!

Bear

all looks great, that chicken has some beautiful color. Happy to hear you are outta the hospital and wish you a speedy full recovery. After two months in a hospital eating that chow I'd be ready to eat a smoked shoe.

Welcome Home, Johnny!!!  I've missed ya!   Everyone's used up all the superlatives - that is one impressive and yummy looking batch of food!

Making a bunch of great food is fun, but the best is when you get to share it.  Cheers!

It felt really good to fire up the smoker again, I even gave the WSM a good cleaning on the inside with some simple green and a scrub brush. Everybody enjoyed the food and had a good time!

Must have spent so much time in the hospital, he got into a cleanliness kick!

Next he'll be wearing all white, like Archangel on Airwolf !

Airwolf! Wow... somebody's showing thier age! (heh-heh) Course the fact I remember the show as well doesn't help my case.

Don't wory Al.... it was just a light cleaning, didnt remove all the gunk sealing the door and lid... lol.

Looks Good Johnny...

If you like that rub you better stock up on it... The manufacturer of it Original Juan, who is my supplier and about 2 miles from my house has quit making both the Jerlk Seasoning  and the Chipotle Seasoning.  I was buying a ton of them and they decided to stop producing it.  I even tried to get them to run a mini batch for me and private label it but they wouldn't do it.

Good to know! I like a lot of their hot sauces and stuff, but my family can't eat much of it.... to spicy for them... lol

I recommend two-a-days until their immunity builds!!!

Keep us posted!

Also, I'd have to take the opposing argument on the cleaning issue:

A seasoned cooker seeing regular use could benefit from built-up crud, but if I had to abandon my WSMC for two months, I know there would be some rancid fats playing merry hob inside!

LOL---I wish you were right Johnny.

I've been streaming Airwolf from Blue Ray.

My day would be Cheyenne, Bronco Lane, Combat, Bonanza, The Rebel, Jim Bowie, etc, etc.

Youngsters!!!  Davy Crockett!!!!  Late night Texas wrestlin".......and it wasn't fake, dagnabit.  Mean Gene, we still love ya.
Hmmm, The only Davy Crockett I remember was a couple of movies--no series, but I do remember the Daniel Boone series.

I never watched much Pro wrestling---The earliest one I remember was "Haystack Calhoun".

Mean Gene sounds familiar, but without doing a search (that's cheating), I can't place him---->Announcer???

Mean Gene Kiniski had a great and long career as a wrestler who came out of pro football  (Edmonton Eskimos) after Bronko Nagurski.  He was principally a "bad" guy.  Won many wrestling titles.  I remember seeing him quite often up here in the Pacific Northwest.

Davy Crockett, played by Fess Parker, had 5 episodes under the Disneyland Banner from 1954 to 1955.  Not a true series as we now think of one but it's regarded as one of the first true miniseries.

Ah, the memories.

I feel like I'm ringside at the old folks home watching the two OLD dudes brandish their canes at eachother!

I surrender---I saw all of those Davy Crocketts, and the Daniel Boones, but Bronco Nagurski (1930 to 1937---Bears) was way before my time. Can I get you a chair, Sir?

I especially liked the shooting competition between Davy & Mike Fink, where Davy used a mirror & a couple ricochets off frying pans and such, and made it look like he caught the ball between his teeth. Also the Keel Boat race was good.

A while back, I saw they have the Davy Crockett movies at NetFlix, but they aren't in the streaming section (FREE).

Johnny:   I'm hoping Dave has enjoyed this as much as I.

I most certainly enjoyed this little trip down memory lane.  And the humor?  Hey if you can't laugh you've really got some problems.

Hey Johnny, don't forget, one day you'll be as old as Bear and will be saying, "Yep, I remember when ......."  Hopefully, you won't need a cane or a walker when you say it.

Me, as long as I can drag myself to my smoker and this keyboard, it's all good.
