Hey! My husband shattered his ankle 2/26 and he is usually the one grilling, howeve I have had to take over! No prob, but our current grill has a few rust spots and a big hole in the charcoal kettle. I have always wanted a smoker/charcoal grill combo. I am looking at the

What do you think? If not this one, then which one is the best?

The metal is kind of thin on those, but they do work OK with some modifications done to them. If you can find one for a under $200 it would be an OK price, if not go to Lowes and get a Char-Griller Smokin' Pro for $180, or a Char-broil Silver - all are about the same. If you have a little more to spend you could get a Weber Smokey Mountain (WSM) 18.5" smoker for a little under $300 and pick up a used Weber Kettle off of craigslist for about $20-$40 for hot grilling.

The WSM's are a super easy to use smoker that turn out great food with very little work. Read the forums under charcoal smokers here and you will see all kinds of other options.

Thanks for the imput. Mu Father-in-law gave us a weber charcoal kettle grill as a wdding present almost 11 years ago, wish we hd never gotten rid of it. We meet our neighbor who loves to smoke everything so my new fav is to smoke everything. My husband won't be up on his feet again to grill til late August (goodbye summer) so it is up to me. Literally our Char Broil is rusting everyday in front of us.
