First try at brisket.

Had some friends over for the weekend, wanted something to WOW them..

I made my Corned Beef and Cabbage that is always a crowd pleaser, but also made 2 briskets.  One with Jeff's rub and one with a mix of peppers and spices that I could find at midnight..

Everyone loved all 3!!  I thought it would have more of a smoke ring, any ideas why not???

that looks like an MES, if so, many members say they can't get a good smoke ring with it.

The brisky looks very moist and tender,

Got any pics of the cabbage?

What type, and how much wood did you use?

I think your asking about wood...  Hickory, some oak and maple, first 4 hours of smoke..

Maybe no smoke ring, but it looks delicious and your guests gobbled it up! For the most part you need to burn charcoal & or wood to get a large smoke ring.

Looks delicious!
