Well, My welder and I started my new reverse flow smoker today. We got the smoking chamber cut to size and cut the doors out of it. Next, I will take it to the sandblaster and have it sandblasted clean. We cut the doors all the way off, but he has a roller in his shop that will roll them back into shape if they warp before we fit them back on. I will try to include some picture along the way. While the smoking chamber is getting sandblasted, I am off to find an axle and tires for the trailer. I will keep you posted along the build.

Well everything is looking good so far.

Met with my welder this morning at 8 am. What a beautiful morning and day it is. Had a high in the 70's in January! We started working on the trailer today. 3500# axle with 15 inch rims and tires. Next we squared up some angle iron and measured out the frame of the trailer at 5 ft x 9ft. He welded and I used the grinder. Added a 2 in. coupler, safety chains, and the diamond plate toolbox, which was free! I ran into a problem with the firebox, as the price of steel has gone through the roof here, however, I was able to score another propane tank to use as a firebox. It is 41 Inches high and has a 29 inch diameter. We have to let it sit for a weekor so with water and detergent in it before he will cut it, so once we got the trailer into a "Rolling Chasis" we called it quits for the day. I will start painting the trailer next week and once the firebox has detoxed long enough, the rest should go pretty quick!

Well, it's been awhile and there have been some changes we had to make. First, was the smoking chmber we were going to use had to be cut down and the firebox made from it. The price of steel has gone through the roof here, so I was able to aquire a second tank from a local propane dealer. We allowed it to off gas and cut into it and got to work. We got it mounted onto the trailer and next week we will start working on the interior of the smoking chamber, firebox vents, smoke stack, then down to the cooler racks on the trailer, the fryer and propane tank spots, and the wood bin. Stay tuned!

Well, I had another weekend working on the smoker. No pics this week, but I will post some next week during the build. I have finished the cooking chamber with the exception of the "guts". Grates and flow plates. I will also be adding some little things to the trailer, such as a turkey fryer, propane tank, cooler, wood box, and who knows what else.
