Hello all. I just wanted to mind my manners and introduce myself. This is my first post.

I'm looking to learn how to smoke more meats and make em taste right.

I've been doing some research on how to do ribs and came across this site. I'll be doing some searching after this post... is Jeff's rub really, really good?

Thanks in advance :)

Welcome from North Harris County.  Since you live so close just send all of your samples that need tasting to my address. Welcome to the site you will love it here.

Yea Jeff's rub is good its definitely worth getting. Also I would recommend the 3-2-1 method for spare ribs and the 2-2-1 method for baby backs. Do a search for 3-2-1 and you will find the process. The best advice I can give you is experiment, experiment, experiment. There are no right or wrong methods everyone has their own preference and what ever you like the best is what you should do.

Thanks everyone!

I'll definitely sign up for the ecourse.

I have a pit my dad had custom made years ago. Nothing special... It's got an offset smoker and is made out of thick steel. It must weigh close to 300 lbs.

I'm on the NW side of Houston, outside the belt.
