Just wanted to check in and introduce myself. As a gift for Father's day this year, I treated myself to a Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5" due to the reviews it recieved here on the board and I haven't been disappointed. This is my first smoker and it's made even a newbie like me look like a pro. I was sick of going to BBQ restaurants and thinking how good this would be if....so I decided to put my money where my mouth was and get to smoking! I have been on here just about everytime I have fired it up whether I'm looking up what the internal temps should be to the cooking times I should expect and I've always been able to find the answers. I've smoked a turkey, turkey breast, briskit, ribs, and numerous pork roasts and haven't ruined anything yet. I'm of the belief that there is no "bad" BBQ, some just better than others. I just want to thank you all for the great site and knowledge, you've helped me a bunch. I hope I can contribute but mainly plan to soak up and learn all I can as smoking is now my new habit .
