Pulled Pork gone bad

Smoked a pork but, that turned out great the first night.  Tastiest pork I think I ever had, but after keeping the leftovers in the frig over night, it came out something less than tasting good.  Any ideas as to what went wrong.

Before I can tell you anything what did the pork taste like?? Was it too smokey tasting or to little smokey tasting?? was it dry or what was wrong with the flavor. Maybe you can heat it up alittle bit and it might taste better. I alway throw mine in the mirco for maybe 20-30 seconds and then eat it.

it mellows out after being in the fridge. bet it was nice and smokey coming off the pit and kinda just faded out ???

Just the opposite of my experience with pp.  Normally on day 2 it, like most other leftovers, come out tasting even better than when first cooked.

 

Like the other have ask, what was wrong with the taste, What kind of cooker and smoke etc?

Mine are always better the next day. The smoke is better and the spices balance out a bit.  What was in your rub/seasoning?

That's what I find with pork in general, it's just not the same the next day.

I always find it tastes better on day two and three. When I do pulled pork being around that smoke for 12 hours kills my tastebuds and I can't taste what it really tastes like when it gets done. However on day two my senses are getting back to normal and then it tastes great.

 

As to how to reheat. I have read how people bag their pulled pork and when they are ready to reheat they boil water and place the bag into the water. If you are reheating alot of meat this might not work, but for smaller amounts it should keep your pulled pork more juicy.

Wylie,

 This reheating technique is for use when you have vacum sealed your leftover meat. Regular freezer bags won't stand up to the heat.

+1 That is what happens to me.


I'll "third" that.

 

Except since Mrs Bear & I usually only reheat 2 sammies for me & one sammy for her, we just take what we need, from the vacuum packed bag, for each sammy & Nuke it for about 45 seconds.

We love it that way. Next day---2 more like that for me. Next day---2 more like that for me----until we run out.
