New to smoking and to this website

Thread Starter

Good afternoon. I am new to the website and fairly new to smoking in general. My family and I live in south east Wisconsin. The weather is starting to get cold but that will not stop the smoker from firing up. I have done some pork shoulder, briskets, ribs, ABT, fatties, ect... I built my own offset barrel smoker and must say it works fairly well since I really didn't know much about smokers.

I really want to thank all of you out there with the information that you post. It is extremely helpful to rookies like me. I do look forward to reading your posts and advice. Once again thanks for all of you help and I look forward to posting my own experiences.  Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

Thank you,

Welcome to SMF! This place is the best and everyone here is willing to help. Ive learned so much from the posts here and seeing how people use their smokers. I suggest taking Jeff's ecourse. Its free and it helped me a lot. Now you just need to post some Qview and you are set!

First off Welcome Jim to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

Cheese is great to cold smoke, but I guess it might be hard to find any cheese where you're from.  wink.gif
