Supplies

Thread Starter

I know there are lots of places to buy sausage making supplies. I try not to use kits if I can. I like to use my own spice mixes. Where is a good place to buy casings by the hank. It does not necessarily need to be the cheapest. I am looking for inexpensive but good quality. Any help would be appreciated. By the way I stayed up way to late last night going through this forum. I found a recipe for Buffalo Chicken Sausage that I am going to try. Has anyone tried this and how did they like it.

Also, how do I go about adding a list of my smokers to my signature.

Thanks

Dan

I have used  http://www.butcher-packer.com/  for several items including casings by the hank. Easy to do business with.

Pops has reccomended http://www.makincasing.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=EM419&Category_Code=1

I have looked at http://www.meatprocessingproducts.com/index.html

Have fun.

I have ordered from butcher and packer and I am very satisfied with the products. I purchased hog casings and they were very practical in price. I have a friend who orders from midwesternresearch.com  and is happy with them.

Now I have heard alot of people talk about using butcher packer and they all have talked well about their experances. Now there is a new sopporter of this web site, I'm sure that jeff or some of the other mods and admin  have checked them out too.

I have not had to buy casing for some time as i stocked up quite a while back, but i used to buy from sausagemaker.com but i see now that the price has risen quite a bit.  Looks like I will be buying from butcher packer myself as there seems to be nearly $20 difference in price.  Very good casings at sausage maker though too.
