Hey Everyone

I have aquired a wine fridge that the compressor is out on. It is probably about half the size of a regular sized fridge. So I think it would be perfect to make into a smoker. I was wondering if it is a good idea to use this, or will I need to change the inside of the cooler? Also the front of the unit is glass, which will be great for display but maybe not for actual function? thanks everyone

I have a Gatorade cooler that I am going to do the same thing with.  you need to make sure to remove all plastic from inside the smoke chamber. and dont forget to replace the rubber door gasket with some hi-tempsilicone or  an oven door gasket.  I plan on putting a heat sheild accross the glass at the bottom of the door where the electric strip heater will be. check out smokednarwahl's post...http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/thread/91229/just-the-beginning-of-my-fridge-smoker-project

and here is my GAShttp://www.smokingmeatforums.com/forum/thread/96153/what-to-do

Have fun with your build!
