I posted a lengthy reply but got a message saying that my response was queued waiting for a moderator to approve it. I'm a noob here so I'm not sure what's up with that. Hopefully it will show up soon.

Hey!!! Great "seeing" you here! Thanks for all your help... from personally recommending the ProQ Excel 20 (I never would have considered it if it wasn't for you), to watching you use it, to sampling your awesome Q, and most importantly... for all your pulled pork mentorship before I gave this...

I love the lava rocks! Keep in mind that the only reason I'm using them is for additional heat retention and stability for smokes that involve opening the lid every hour for spritzing/mopping. I tried sand, foil-wrapped bricks and ceramic firebrick with little to no benefit. I have 2 boxes of...

The wood and rub that I used combined with the spritz is (to me) the perfect balance of sweet, salt, smoke, heat and spice. I can honestly say I've never tasted this...

Smokers, Whats your age and how long have you been smoking???

52 here. My dad taught me old-school smoking in the mid-60s. Been refining my smoking skills ever since.

Lurker here... I've enjoyed reading your posts here, especially with all the Qview so I thought I'd share. I've been grilling and smoking for decades but never tried butts in a modular bullet, so... thought I'd come out of the closet and share a few Qviews of my 1st pork butts in my ProQ Excel...
