    North Florida Gathering IIII

I would love to make this one. I missed last years. I have a camper, are there any electric sites left or is it first come? If not, what is the closest State Park to you. What is the address?

    Wild Cherry

Cherry is probably my favorite wood to smoke with, nice taste not to harsh. A branch is a good size. I normally cut pieces about 1 to 2 inches thick, looks like a disk. Then I can quarter or eighth the disk with a hatchet, or if there small enough in diameter I’ll use it whole. Normally I prefer...

    First DO

Cman95, Most WalMart stores carry Lodge 12'' Dutch Ovens for $48.00. I just picked another one up. Lodge is a very well manufactured DO, and the great thing about Lodge is that they are one of the few Foundries left in the good ol US of A. Yes, made by real Americans in Tennessee. Good luck my...

    Camping trip, Dutch Oven cooking!!!

Roo-B-Q'N this is so easy and delicious. Pour into DO two cans of pie filling, your choice. Then 1 box of white or yellow cake mix, the cheaper the better. Pour the cake mix evenly over the fruit filling, do not steer or mix. I use 1 stick of butter/margarine. Cut it into several chunks and...

    Dutch Oven Liners

When camping I’m so tired of cleaning Dutch Ovens. The liner gives me a break. I think BBQBubba is right on the money with his comment. Most things I think I would not want to use a liner. To answer your question PitRow, it is parchment paper, $4.00 for a pack of 8.

    Camping trip, Dutch Oven cooking!!!

Yes Garyt you are right. It is Parchment paper, much like a crock pot liner. I use my DO every time we go camping. I have a Lodge 10” & 12”. You can download DO cookbooks, Google Boy Scout’s Camp Dutch Oven Cook Book. I think there may be a DO cook book in this forum. I’m going to print the BS...

    Meat slicer opinion wanted

Trapper, I have the Chefs Choice 610. I like it a lot. It’s a small easy to clean work horse. The unit comes with a serrated blade. To cut meat you will need to buy a Ham blade, they are about $30.00. You’ll find this slicer priced around $100.00. I have been very happy with this unit, but I...

I want to buy a meat slicer, and plan to spend around +/- $100.00. I have been reading reviews and am impressed with the Chef's Choice Model 610. The slicer will be home use. I want something that is efficient in its use and also durable. What are your thoughts? Any input will be much...
