Pros: So many but it has a all new design from old Traegers and incorporated everything people had complained about the older models
Cons: None so far. Hardest part was unpacking it from the box. They really really packed this thing to protect it.
I started years ago with a offset smoker and then in 2013 moved to a Traeger lil Tex elite. Loved it but still was looking for that next step. Well it is here. The Timberline has so many upgrades it is hard to list them all. The WIFI controller allows you to control the entire process from your smart phone. The new SUPER Smoke setting really puts the smoke to the meat at temps 225 and below. Three racks in the smoker give plenty of room for everything. The bottom grate can be repositioned lower to give a sear platform. No smokestack just a outlet on the back of the unit for the smoke. It easily hits 500 degrees and temps vary only a few degrees. It has a cool down cycle. You can select cooking recipes via the app on your phone and the unit knows the times and temps automatically. It has a built in meat temp probe that is easy to use. I am sure there is a ton more I am not listing. I am very happy with this new smoker and have had some great cooks so far with it. No flame outs or error codes or temp variations. It even has a side chute to empty the pellet hopper when you want to change pellet types. The fan in this unit is a variable speed fan unlike the older models. The fan is what gives the close temperature control.
